Prosecutions and Inquiries

The Commission responds to all complaints about Registered Building Practitioners who may have breached professional standards or the Building Act 1993.

Where an investigation identifies breaches of legislations or professional conduct the matter is referred for Inquiry by the Building Practitioners Board or prosecution before a court by the Building Commission.

The Building Commission maintains a register of recent prosecutions and inquiries on its website. Please note that some results may not appear for 60 days due to appeal periods. For further information contact Practitioner Services on 1300 815 127.
