Changes to Cooling Towers Registration

On the 1st of January 2010 the Department of Health has taken over the management of the cooling tower systems registration process. This is part of a realignment project that has come about due to the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.

The change will see a single location for registration and legionella investigation which will provide a more efficient level of service delivery and support to the industry.  The Building Commission supports this initiative.

The Building Commission has been working in conjunction with the Department of Health to facilitate a smooth transition of the cooling tower registration process.
