Registered Building Practitioner advertising campaign
The Building Commission has an ongoing advertising campaign to promote Registered Building Practitioners, under the theme "You can trust a Registered Building Practitioner" and "Are you a Registered Building Practitioner? The first question you should ask."
The campaign is designed to educate Victorian consumers about the need for, and benefits of engaging a Registered Building Practitioner. Consumers are being encouraged to ask all building practitioners for identification and to sight the new Registered Building Practitioner logo.
The advertising campaign combines press and radio to build awareness and inform consumers of the importance of using a Registered Building Practitioner. Two press advertisements were developed (click here to view the climber press advertisement climber and the trapeze press advertisement) and three radio advertisements (click here to listen to Ferrari radio advertisement, Kids radio advertisement and Sunscreen radio advertisement)
Each advert focuses on a unique scenario where a consumer places their trust in a builder. The concept directly addresses the need for consumers to engage a builder they can trust and emphasises that only Registered Building Practitioners have the knowledge, qualifications and experience to do the job right.
The campaign was launched in 2004 with the latest round of advertising scheduled to appear in May-June 2006. The press advertisements appear in the Saturday Age, the Sunday Herald Sun, Melbourne Weekly, Melbourne Times, Emerald Hill Times and a number of other publications. A press advertisement promoting the importance of using a Registered Building Practitioner will also appear in the Yellow Pages. The radio advertisements were heard on Fox and Gold FM.
The newly designed Registered Building Practitioner's logo earmarks the beginning of the campaign and building practitioners are encouraged to use this on all their stationary, signage and advertising.
